From a Correspondent JORHAT, Jan 10: Assam Government will introduce Land Bank in the State. The State Government has completed survey of land to set up Land Bank in all districts. Village Land Marking Coordination Committee was formed in the all districts for assistance in setting up land bank. Jorhat district administration has completed survey to be set up land bank. Land bank will provide information to citizens of Assam about their land status and land pattern. “All government land will be protected by land bank. The State Government is preparing a format to set up land bank,” said Dr Jayanta Goswami, Additional Deputy Commissioner (revenue) of Jorhat. He added that Village Land Marking Coordination Committee would be making the pattern of village land use policy. A total of 11 Village Land Marking Coordination Committees were formed in all revenue villages of the district, which include village heads and local representatives of panchayat and other dignitaries.
