BILASIPARA, June 19: A large number of women of Bilasipara Sub-Divisional  level Women Cell gheraoed the office of the principal of Bilasipara College on Monday, protesting against the threatening to life to one Prof Sandipa Biswas of the college by Prof Atikur Rahman of the same college.

On enquiry it is learnt that on June 11, when the second Semester Examination of TDC(Arts)of Bilasipara College was going on the invigilators detected a solved  question paper of General English from the two students of the college. It is to be noted here that there were three invigilators in the examination hall,  Prof Abdul Kader, Prof Dr BQ Hasna and Prof Sandipa Biswas.

The invigilator Dr BQ Hasna seized the solved question paper and while discussing the matter with the principal, all of  a sudden, Prof Atikur Rahman  appeared on the spot and started abusing one Prof Sandipa Biswas using slang languages and threatened her that he will  burn her alive in the college campus  in presence of the principal of the college.

It is worth mentioning here that the hand writing of the solved question paper is almost similar to the hand writing of Prof Atikur Rahman.  Next day  Sandipa Biswas submitted a written complaint to the principal against the ill treatment of Prof Atikur.

The Principal Dr Malek Uddin Ahmed instead of taking action against  Prof Atikur, called for explanation from Prof Sandipa. Observing the attitude of the principal, finding no other alternative Sandipa filed an FIR against Atikur in the Bilasipara Police Station. Police registered the case vide case No 423/12 u/s 294/506 IPC and arrested Prof Atikur and later released him on bail.

It is to be noted here that at the instigation of Atikur, a few students of the college staged a dharna in the college compound against Sandipa. It is further learnt that Atikur filed an FIR against Sandipa on fabricated ground.
