NAGAON, July 22: Former Chief Minister and Founder President of AGP Prafulla Kr Mahanta was accorded warm welcome by the party workers and activists at Nagaon district AGP office.

Earlier a bike rally was organized where 300 people escorted Mahanta from Phulghat to the party office.

It may be mentioned here that after being elected to the post of President, this was the first visit of Mahanta to his home place, Nagaon. Mahanta was accompanied by Lachit Bordoloi, Dr Jayashree Mahanta, Bubul Das, Girin Barua and Mamani Bora.

Addressing the gathering Mahanta said that only regional party can solve the problems of Assam.

 Mahanta also charged the ruling congress with indulging in rampant corruption, injustice and secret and open killings of innocent people.

Mahanta also said, corruption and killings of the innocent people are increasing at a alarmingly rate.

He appealed to the workers to gear up the party at all levels and stessed on the membership drive to regain the image of the party.
