From our correspondent Nalbari , July 22: A public meet held at Barama Girl’s High School organized by Baksa District BPF committee today appealed to all sections of people irrespective caste, creed, religion and language to maintain peace and harmony for congenial atmosphere in the district. Banamali Baro, President of District BPF committee explained the objectives of the meet. Munsing Brahma , the secretary of District BPF committee urged all sections of people to be alert against any sporadic incidents which might occur in Baksa too under the conspiracy of some people with vested interests like that happened in kokrajhar district . Referring to the killing of nine persons in Kokrajhar district, Prabin Boro, Secretary of BPF, central committee said that killings and violence could not bring any sort of development and integration in the society. Deobar Ramchiary, the secretary of Boro Xahitya Xabha, Baksa district committee urged the concerned people to chalk out programmes in rural areas against such incidents like Kokrajhar and Gossaigaon area. Binod Daimary, Dimbeswar Das, Rama Basumutary also delivered speeches on this occasion. Buddhi Narjary, the Ex-MLA of Chapaguri Constituency among others also attended the meeting. |
