BILASIPARA, Aug 3: D Raja, MP, Secretary of the Communist Party of India, New Delhi who is on his two-day visit to Kokrajhar, Chirang and Dhubri Districts arrived at Bilasipara on Thursday.
Accompanied by Drupad Bargohain, ex-MP and Giasuddin Ahmed, ex-Deputy Speaker of Assam Assembly visited the relief camps set up at Bilasipara Public HS School, Bilasipara College, Rokakhata HS School and Bangalipara ME Madrassa.
While interacting with the inmates of the relief camps the inmates alleged that they are getting food once in a day . The inmates alleged that they are passing their days in the relief camps in great difficulties. Medical facilities, baby food, health and sanitation arrangements are quite insufficient.
When asked about returning back to their home the refugees said that until and unless proper security measures are not provided they will not go back.
They further alleged that one Pradip Brahma alias Zara, MLA, Kokrajhar West LAC along with a large number of Bodo extremists attacked several villages dominated by minority people.
Raja assured the refugees that he would take up the matter with the Central Government and the State Government for immediate solution of the problem including rehabilitation of the homeless people. |
