GOALPARA, Feb 2: A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the death ‘in encounter’ of a suspected GNLA cadre that took place on November 15, 2012 last at Bamune Panikhowa village under Krishnai police station. According to an information, the District Magistrate of Goalpara, Preetom Saikia, IAS, has ordered executive magistrate cum Matia Circle Officer, Manjit Borkakoti to inquire into the facts and circumstances leading to the death of the unidentified GNLA cadre ‘in an encounter’ with 19Dogra Regiment of Damra camp and accompanied by the police of Krishnai PS on the said date.
However, Monjit Borkakoti, assuming the charge to conduct the inquiry, has appealed to all concerned to submit evidences or informations, if any, to his Matia Circle Office, between 11 am to 2 pm up to February 8.
