GUWAHATI, March 20: Springdale High School in Jorhat has made a place for itself in the list of gems of Assam. Recently, the school has bagged the award for being the “Best Public School with Excellent Campus in Assam” during the prestigious Asia Education Summit & Awards 2017, a press release said.
Worldwide Achievers and PERSON (People for Education Research Scholarship & Outward Nutrition) came together to present the 7th Asia Education Summit Awards 2017 - Asia’s most authoritative Conference & Awards for the Education Sector. The award ceremony was organized at Hotel Hyatt, (in the national capital) Delhi. Shahnaz Ahmed, Managing Trustee, Springdale High School, along with the Directors Javed Ahmed & Zoheb Ahmed received the award from senior BJP leader and party spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain.
Asia Education Summit offers an exclusive international platform for the innovative actions taken in the education sector. The objective of the summit is to put light on the scope and challenges in this sector. The summit brings together leaders in education from around the Asia to have a constructive interaction and exchange of thoughts. The idea is to rethink education and design it meticulously. Needless to say, Springdale High School’s vision runs parallel to the concept of the summit.
With a huge campus spanning in three acres of lush green land in Cinnamara, Jorhat, Springdale has a lot to offer than just bookish knowledge. The school had set its foot in 1991, and since then it has been a never-ending and enthusiastic journey. Highly qualified faculty members; efficient administrative staff; innovative and hardworking management team; and the zealous young bulbs of the future constitute the pillars of the school. The school has been putting in its sincere efforts in improving the methodologies and design of the education. It has undergone a transformation from being a SEBA school to being granted CBSE affiliation.
The principle of Springdale’s educational pedagogy is to take a holistic approach and evolve continuously in this spectrum so as to not just make the Springdalites competent and skilled (to chase their dreams and goals) but also carve a good human being out of them (the one who is instilled with the sense of humanity and sensibility). The school is located amidst the sprawling paddy fields. The environment is kept green to get students close to nature and make them sagacious about the good environment. Moreover, a clean and green environment improves the mind and body of the student.
Shahenaz Ahmed envisions Springdale scaling new heights on the national front for its holistic approach towards education (five years down the line), and shares the mantra of the school’s success, “we have chosen inclusive education as our way of teaching, and this goes beyond textbooks. We have integrated various elements in our child-centric curriculum, including moral values and social responsibility. The environment of the school is very congenial, green and not overcrowded so that they have ample of opportunities to learn what a perfect learning environment is like. Our motto is to develop a child’s mind, body, and soul. I’m overwhelmed at the success of the school and I want to take it to a greater height where it can achieve more laurels and shine with pride.” The school has a strong and determined notion for education, as they don’t just educate (as per the curriculum) and nurture students, but they go that extra mile to transform the students into path breakers and creators. These Springdalites (or Springdeens) are all set to give a tough deal to those who stay within the shell of the bookish curriculum.
