PATHSALA, March 20: The people of Titka Dubi of Bajali subdivision of Patacharkuchi constituency in Barpeta district are facing problems due to deplorable roads in the area.
The roads connecting Pathsala railway station to Titka and Dubi are in a deplorable state. People pay road tax and other taxes but in return they get such poor roads to ply on. It is barely possible to walk and drive on these roads, especially during the rainy season. Road infrastructure is underdeveloped with no warning signboards and streetlights. According to the residents of the area, the roads have not been repaired since a long time. Every year on the occasion of Magh Bihu, a large number of devotees visit the Sri Sri Parihareswar Dewaloi, a 400-year old temple at Dubi in Bajali subdivision. But nowadays most people do not visit the temple due to the deplorable condition of the road.
The people of the area have urged the government and the MLA of Patacharkuchi constituency to take necessary steps to repair the roads in the greater interest of the people.
