Former UPDS leader passes away

HOWRAGHAT, Sept 13: Former self-styled defence secretary and commander-in-chief of United People’s Democratic Solidarity (UPDS), Ananda Terang alias  Long Dilli passed away  around 3:30 am on Wednesday at his residence at Inglong Cherop, Diphu. Terang was suffering from organ failure since few months. Ananda Terang served in Assam Rifles before joining UPDS. He played a vital role in the formation of Karbi People Force (KPF) which later merged with KNV (Karbi National Volunteer) and formed UPDS. Terang was also appointed as general secretary of ex-UPDS Welfare Society. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son.
