LPG connections distributed in remote Ukium village

BOKO, Aug 12: The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) was launched in Kamrup district on June 27. As part of PMUY, Nandini Gas Agency from Boko has already distributed more than 1,000 gas connections, including in Ukium, a remote village in the Assam-Meghalaya border. Before providing free LPG connections, Nandini Gas Agency organized safety awareness camp at Ukium and other villages like Bamunigaon, Narenga, Pakharapara, Jarapara, Mugakhol, Malibari and Ratanpur. Bhaben Das, manager of the gas agency said, “We will provide free LPG connections as soon as possible.” Perisha U. Marak of Ukium village said, “All this while we had been using firewood for cooking but this scheme has provided relief to us.”
