Former Jhanji HS School Principal passes away

GAURISAGAR, Sept 13: Nirmal Chakravorty, noted educationist, former Principal of Jhanji HS School and a resident of Jhanji Teteliguri Brahmin village in Jorhat district,  passed away on Wednesday morning at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) due to liver disease. He was 75.
 After superannuation as a Principal in-charge from Jhanji HS School, Chakraborty served as an education and administrative officer in three Kendriya Vidyalayas like Nazira, Sivasagar and Lakwa under ONGC Assam Asset. He was a sincere administrator and as a teacher he was able to win the hearts and respect of his students with his teaching skills in English. He took initiative to upgrade the former high school to higher secondary standard. He was also a well-known soccer player.
 His demise has been widely mourned  in entire Jhanji area. Various  organizations  like Jhanji HS School, Jhanji Press Club, Hahchara Junior College and others have condoled his demise. He is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives.
