NRL pays Rs 168.92- cr dividend to Dispur

Guwahati, Oct 6: NRL has paid a total dividend of Rs 168.92 crore to the Assam government for 2016-17 against its equity shareholding of 12.35% in the Company. This is the highest ever dividend payout of 186% during a year. The final dividend cheque of Rs 78.1 crore was handed over to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal by NRL MD P Padmanabhan in the presence of State Industries & Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries & Commerce) Ravi Capoor, NRL Director (Finance) SK Barua and NRL Director (Technical) BJ Phukan here on Friday. This dividend is in addition to the interim dividend of Rs 90.82 crore paid to the Assam government earlier this year.
