Inter School Cricket begins

GUWAHATI, Feb 9: Inter School Cricket tournament (U-13), organized by Royal Global School, got under way at the school premises today. Former first class cricketer of the State Nishanta Bordoloi inaugurated the tournament in presence of Anubha Goyal, Principal, Royal Global School and host of other officials. Altogether 7 schools from the city and 1 school from Tezpur are participating in this tournament where Matches will be played in League Cum Knockout Basis.
In the inaugural match Don Bosco School, Panbazar, defeated Fairyland School by 4 wickets. Batting first, Fairy Land School put up a competitive score of 125 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets.  Roshan Sharma (37 of 33 balls) and Shivam Chetri (21 of 22 balls) were the top scorers for Fairy land. Don Bosco reached the target in the last over losing six wickets. Nabarun Dutta (39 of 38 balls) performed well with the bat.
