Assam-based Bollywood actor becomes poster boy for Welsh tourism campaign

From Our Correspondent
Silchar, March 8: Assam based Bollywood actor Rajdeep Choudhury, who will soon be seen sharing screen space with Arbaaz Khan, Sonal Chauhan and Amit Sadh in Sachin Karande’s Jack and Dill, has been cast as the poster boy for Wales in the United Kingdom as their new face in a British tourist board campaign to bring more people to explore the attractions of Wales as a tourist destination. This has definitely added another feather in Rajdeep’s crown cap. Britain will be viewed through the prism of fresh eyes now.
Talking to The Sentinel over telephone from London, Rajdeep Choudhury said, “I am over the Moon. Such offers and golden opportunities surely make one proud. Jack and Dill in India and the tourist board campaign in UK have given me enough reasons to be elated and ecstatic. The film for Welsh tourism and the upcoming Bollywood film will soon be released. People will see and feel how much I enjoyed working for both the films. It was delightful to work for both the films.”
Rajdeep said, “Wales has its fantastic lofty mountains, rivers and lakes just like we have here in our lovely and beautiful State of Assam. But what makes this even more similar is that my next project this year in Assam is to do exactly the same for our area as the Welsh short film is aiming to do for Wales – to draw more tourists into exploring places which are not on the usual tourist routes. This will take the form of a commercial Bollywood film titled ‘Nange Pair’, set in and shot across Assam”.
The actor further said that he is looking forward to returning to Assam with the whole cast and crew of ‘Nange Pair’ to finalize the locations. “I would thank the tourism department and ministry of Assam for showing us some breathtaking locations and introducing us to some amazing technicians from the state of Assam,” Rajdeep Choudhury added to say.
