Anomalies in appointment of teacher in school alleged

NAGAON (HAIBORGAON), Nov 14: While State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is trying to uplift the government educational institutions, the authority of Nagaon Dowson Higher Secondary and Multi purposes School, in an unauthorized way, allegedly appointed four teachers of private educational institutions on monthly pay basis despite having the required number of teachers in the institution.
As per allegation of some local people, the authority of the school allegedly appointed one Mathematics teacher of a private educational institute of the district despite having a full-phased Mathematics teacher, Dilip Gogoi who was allegedly kept absent and took his monthly salary through a tacit understanding with the school authority through unfair means.
The local public has urged the State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to intervene in this matter. On the other hand, the Principal of the institution, Tapon Kumar Baidya, said that the school authority appointed not one but four private teachers, especially in Science stream in higher secondary level, only for the better interest of the students and for that he had not taken any prior permission from the department concerned so far. He also said that Dilip Gogoi was a regular teacher and he was about to retire. Hence, due to old-age ailment he could not take few classes for which the authority was bound to appoint other teacher in his place so that the students do not suffer.
