ASDMA to organize meeting

Tezpur, Oct 11: In a move to reduce the death toll during natural calamity, Assam Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), in collaboration with National Disaster Management  Authority (NDMA) and District Disaster Management  Authority (DDMA), Sonitpur, has planned to organize a sensitization meeting, mock drill and hotwash discussion with stakeholders of 20 departments like SDRF, NDRF, Health Department, Fire Safety, Civil Defence, Education, PHE and ASEB for observing the International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR) at Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Tezpur on October 13. The day-long programme will be inaugurated by Sonitpur  Deputy Commissioner Monoj Kumar Deka. Parijat Bhuyan, SDO Sadar, will be the evaluator of the mock drill for fire, flood and earthquake. The Civil Defence and SDRF will demonstrate the rescue operation during the mock drill session. The Health Department will bring seven 108 ambulances in the school and will take the patients to Tezpur Kanaklata Civil Hospital.
