BSF apprehends cattle smuggler

GUWAHATI, Nov 14: Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended one Indian national on Tuesday, from bordering areas of Dhubri district. Troops  of border outpost of Deep char of 6 Bn BSF deployed in South Salmara district were keeping surveillance and domination over border areas. Alert troops observed suspicious movement of miscreants along with cattle towards IB and challenged them to stop. But the miscreants did not pay any heed and tried to escape. One of them has been apprehended by the troops after a pursuit along with 6  cattle. Apprehended Indian national has been identified as Mehboob Ali, (22 yrs), resident of Kanai Mara village of  South Salmara district. He has been further handed over to Kharuwabandah Police Station for further legal action. Besides, BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier seized 26 cattle heads having approximate value of Rs. 1,32,540/- and 11 Kg ganja on intervening night of Monday. This was stated in a press release.
