Gang of dacoits nabbed, arms and looted cash recovered

Mangaldai, Oct 11:  In a prompt action, the team of Dalgaon police station in Darrang district managed to nab three accused and recovered arms, ammunition and looted cash within 24 hours of a robbery. According to police, in connection with a incident of robbery in the house of one Muslimuddin Ahmed, retired teacher of Dalgaon, on the midnight of October 9,  police arrested three persons from Gorakhat, Dalgaon and Dhopguri , Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur district and recovered two country-made guns along with five rounds of  live ammunition. Looted cash of Rs 18,000, two pairs of camouflage army uniform and caps were also recovered from their possession .
The recovery, which was made from the house and campus of one Khalil Ali (30), a resident of village Dhopguri under Dhekiajuli Police Station in Sonitpur district, was done after the confession made before police during interrogation by  one Rafiqul Islam (20) , a resident of village Gorakhat under Dalgaon Police Station, and a caretaker in the house of Muslimuddin Ahmed.
One of their accomplices, identified as Mazid Ali (32) of Gorakhat, Dalgaon was also arrested in this connection whereas the fourth member of the gang, identified as Ainul Haque (35) of the same village, was absconding till filing of this report. A case with no. 674 / 17 under section 394 IPC has already been registered in Dalgaon PS and all the accused were remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday by the court. An FIR was lodged in Dalgaon PS by Muslimuddin Ahmed on October 10 that on the previous midnight a gang of three unknown criminals dressed in camouflage army uniform broke into their house through the windows, physically assaulted him and other family members and looted cash amounting to Rs 1.25 lakh and valuable gold ornaments at gun point and escaped.
