Goalpara DC warns corrupt fair price shop agents

Goalpara, Oct 12: Ghanashyam Dass, Deputy Commissioner of Goalpara, has warned the fair price shops agents who are involved in malpractices and duping the ration card holders while distributing government supplies.
During a recent meeting of the Vigilance and Monitoring Council, few members pointed out that some fair price shop dealers were issuing rice to less number of beneficiaries than the number allotted by the government under the National Food Security Act.  The office of the Deputy Commissioner has issued a warning letter in this regard, directing to correct the exact number of family members within 10 daysas it is in the office record available on Existing Ration Card Management System (ERMS) website. The Deputy Commissioner also gave hints on taking stringent action against those dealers who were distributing less quantity of subsidized kerosene oil than the actual quantity of 3.5 litre per family.  “Licence will be terminated of those defaulters and FIR will be lodged,” stated the letter. It has also been advised to collect the signatures of the beneficiaries while distributing the government supplies and submit the same to the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
