Memorial award conferred by Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra

LAKHIMPUR, Jan 3: As a contribution for the betterment of the academics, Sri Sri Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra of Dhakuakhona, since 2010, has conferred the Achyut Chandra Deva Goswami Memorial Award to the student who secures the highest marks in Assamese in the HSLC examination among the students in Lakhimpur district. This year, Princi Pavan Saikia of Narayanpur won the award securing the highest mark in the subject in the last HSLC exam. On Wednesday, the award was given away to him at a programme held in a befitting manner in the Xatra campus. The award consists of a medal made of one tola gold, certificate of merit, cheleng sadar and a bundle of valuable books. The programme was chaired by Deka Xatradhikar Bhupendra Deva Goswami. Inspector of Schools Mridul Kumar Nath, educationists Dr. Keshav Hazarika, Tuwaram Dutta, Deva Kumar delivered inspiring lectures addressing the students and the gathering in the programme. On behalf of Princi Pavan, parents Jiten Saikia and Dipali Saikia took the award during the programme which was anchored by Durlabh Deva Goswami.
