Missing woman's body recovered, husband held

Tezpur, Oct 12: Sensation prevailed on Wednesday at Bamgaon village area near Balipara under Chariduar Police Station in Sonitpur district following recovery of a body in the River Mansiri. Police identified the deceased as Rajanti Munda (28), wife of Srinath Munda, resident of 10 No. Line, Bamgaon Tea garden area.
According to sources, both Rajanti Munda and Srinath Munda came at night to watch the film being shown on the occasion of Lakshmi Puja in the tea garden and  Rajanti Munda went to the toilet at a distance while her husband was standing close by. But surprisingly, Rajanti Munda went missing from there. In this connection, Srinath Munda informed the locals and the local people made every possible attempt to locate her but failed.
On Wednesday when the local people went for fishing in the River Mansiri, they saw the body of the missing woman floating in the river and immediately reported to the Chariduar Police Station. Police recovered the body and sent it to Tezpur Kanaklata Civil Hospital for post mortem, sources said.
On the other hand, Chariduar Police apprehended Srinath Munda, husband of the deceased woman, in connection with the death of Rajanti Munda and interrogation is going on.
