Torchlight rally to demand publication of Naga framework agreement

Namrup, Nov 13: Condemning the Central Government’s role in handling over Assam’s land by implementing the Naga framework agreement, Namrup Anchalik Chatra Santha (NACS) took out a massive torchlight rally on Monday from Sonari Tiniali covering entire Namrup township.
The protesters demanded the publication of the Naga Framework Agreement signed between NSCN (I-M) and the Government of India. Shankar Jyoti Baruah, general secretary, AASU Dibrugarh unit said that AASU would not tolerate any loss of Assam land in the name of the  Naga framework agreement and warned that if the government made any compromise with the territorial integrity and the rights of the indigenous people of Assam, they would resort to strong protest against it. The people of Namrup voluntarily took part in the rally and demanded immediate disclosure of the agreement.
