Itanagar, Nov 13: Raising concern over inordinate delay in completion of the much-awaited Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) construction along the stretches between Gobuk village to Sijon Nalah in between Yingkiong and Mariyang in Upper Siang district, the Bharatiya Kishan Sangh (BKS) has appealed to both the State and Central government to expedite the construction work, which is at snail’s pace since 2012.
Referring to the construction of the TAH portion between district headquarters Yingkiong-Gobuk which is nearing completion though it was started in the same year, Upper Siang unit of BKS secretary Mondo Ratan alleged that the work in between Gobuk village and Sijon Nalah is at snail’s pace.
“Due to such delay in road construction, the common people are facing hardship during the journey as the road often remains blocked. Besides, commuters find it difficult to move where not even a single span of the road is constructed properly,” Ratan added.
The Kisan Sangh has appealed to both the State and Central governments to give strong direction to the concerned firms to speed up the construction work without further delay.
