| THE POWER OF TEACHING TOLERANCE |
|
| ‘‘Why do you keep talking about not being able to tolerate your class mate?â€, “I really can’t tolerate this behaviour of yours,†“Your screaming and shouting will not be tolerated by anyone†are all part of our conversation with our children- not very often when we are lucky, and quite a few times a day sometimes, when the going gets tough and we parents have to keep going…!
Tolerance is the willingness to accept something, especially opinions or behaviour that we may not agree with, or people who are not like us. When our children learn tolerance, they are essentially learning the importance of appreciating the differences of others, and how to treat every individual with the same level of compassion, kindness, and respect — regardless of who they are, or where they come from. As our children mature, the differences in people become more apparent and they begin to pick up on societal attitudes towards those of other religi |

| Wishful eyes |

| Look up now, look up now it matters, For the world is growing dark.
And now, even the shadows are breaking The concreted roads are quaking. Stand still, until I say it is enough When the suffocating seas are rough...
I have unwillingly chosen to fall in its midst,
Succumbed to its circular confusion, lost.Â
And if I try a thousand lusty eyes Offering myself up, as the forbidden prize. In a failing attempt to echo the siren’s call Through a surmounting hatred of them all.
Will you stand on the cracking concreted path?
When waves of cement bound the way.Â
And what if I told you under your bed, I hid a secret box With no keys and seven ornate locks And whispered across the chokingly solid air ‘Seven keys, seven continents, to prove you care’.
How far would fading footsteps mark the earth?
In dusty deserts, Persian plains and snowy shores.
Would it be far enough for you to resentfully realize Through all the trivial tears and shallow sighs You ha |

| SIGNIFICANCE OF COLOURS IN VAASTU |
|
| Colours have always played a very important role in vaastu. It is necessary to use the colours properly in the house. In India, white is associated with mourning and that is why people wear white during funerals and other related rituals. But in the west, Black is the colour of mourning and we can see people dressed in black at death ceremonies.
White is the mixture of all the colors. We can see this colour portray mourning at the magnificient Taj Mahal. Most of the temples and religious buildings are made of white marble or white colour. If a house has been painted white all over, then there should be shades of other colours in curtains, carpets, sofa, bedcovers, pictures and almirahs to bring in the contrast.
Violet is a spiritual colour and it is good for meditation and contemplation. It can be used in the prayer room.

| Paint the town red with leather bags, for red is the colour of the fashion accessory this season. Some environment-conscious designers are also making sure they sell vegetable-tanned leather and not causing cruelty to animals.
â€Among fashion colours, red has always been a hot seller. The colour is seeing renewed interest and might jump from being the classic fashion colour to the hot new thing albeit in a new shade,†Dilip Kapur, president of premium leather accessories brand Hidesign, told us. “A particular shade of red like cherry red or tomato red will make it to the trend boards, while classic reds and deep reds will continue to sell for long,†he added.
It’s not just the Indian market that is witnessing the splurge of red. American fashion house Tom |
