JORHAT, December 31: A student of Class IX, studying in the Jorhat Government Boys’ School and identified as sir Ali (15), went missing since Tuesday after he was dropped by his father Laskar Ali in the school for collecting the annual report card.

Laskar Ali said, “I dropped him at 11:30 am and went to fetch a gas cylinder and after I returned home at 2 pm, I was told that sir had not returned. We enquired and searched in all his friends’ house but could not trace him and now we have filed a missing FIR at Jorhat Sadar Police station. sir had failed his last exam and we thought because of his poor marks he could have hidden himself in our relatives or his friend’s house. But now we fear that something wrong might have happened with him. Police investigation is on.”

Meanwhile, in another incident a miscreant attacked a mager of the Shiv Roller flour mill at Lichubari with sharp weapons and injured him seriously. The mager, more popularly known as Panditji, was hit by a person just outside the mill campus. The assailant came in a scooter (AS–03 0945) but later escaped the scene while leaving behind the scooter.
