Air Marshall SB Deo takes charge as AOC–in–C Eastern Command

Shillong, January 1: Air Marshal SB Deo has taken over as the Air Officer Commanding–in– Chief  (AOC–in–C) of the Shillong–based of  Eastern Air Command of the Indian Air Force on Thursday. Deo succeeded Air Marshal RK Jolly who superannuated on December 31. The new AOC–in–C was presented with Ceremonial Guard of Honour by Air Warriors of HQ EAC on assuming Command. A fighter combat leader and a qualified flying instructor, Air Marshal SB Deo was commissioned in the Fighter Stream on June 15, 1979. The Air Marshal has tented various important staff and field appointments during his distinguish service career spanning over 35 years. Prior to taking over as Air Officer Commanding –in–Chief of Eastern Air Command, he was Director General Air (Operations) at Air HQ. For his distinguished sevice to the tion, he was awarded the Presidential awards of Ati Vishist Seva Medal, Vayu Se Medal and Vishist Seva Medal. He is married to Mrs. Anj Deo who assumed the charge of president, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regiol) on Thursday at an official ceremony held at the HQ Eastern Air Command, Shillong.
