’Anti–terror plan will destroy terrorism’

Islamabad, January 1: Pakistan Prime Minister waz Sharif said on Thursday that the tiol Action Plan that is being implemented will destroy terrorism in the country.

Chairing a high–level meeting to review legal aspects of the anti–terrorism tiol Action Plan (P), Sharif emphasised that no one could remain neutral in the war against terrorism.

“The country’s civil and military leadership is united against terrorism and militancy,” The News Intertiol quoted Sharif as saying.

The meeting was attended by federal ministers, the governor of Khyber–Pakhtunkhwa, the army chief, the director general of Inter–Services Intelligence, legal experts and the attorney general.

The P was chalked out after the horrifying Taliban attack on an army–run school in Peshawar that left over 140 students and teachers dead.

Legal and constitutiol matters for the formation of special courts for trials of terrorism cases were discussed during Thursday’s meeting.

“We will not let the sacrifices of our soldiers and the blood of innocent children in Peshawar go in vain,” Sharif said.

According to the prime minister, terrorists tried to “change our attitude” by creating fear, but they will not be successful under any cost.

Sharif has convened a meeting of all–party leaders Friday to review and focus on the P for counter–terrorism.

Earlier on Thursday, Leader of Opposition in the tiol Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah said there was no discussion about setting up of special courts during the previous all–party meeting. However, he said that all parties had agreed to amend the Army Act. (IANS)
