BARD holds book keeping training

SILCHAR, January 2: The DDM, BARD, Cachar in association with NGO, Moniarkhal T.E. Youth Club organised a day long training programme on Book Keeping for SHG members and leaders at Malugram of this town recently. About 33 SHG members participated in the programme. At the outset, B.D. Roy, Secretary of the NGO extended warm welcome to all the participants and set out the objectives of the training programme. The programme was attended among others by B. Singha, AP member, Palonghat Gram Panchayat.

DDM, BARD deliberated in detail the need for formation of SHGs and their proper functioning. He gave a brief account on the role & responsibilities of the group members and stressed the importance of savings, thrift activities and group dymics in uplifting the standard of living of the people. He also mentioned about the SHG 2 and the various books to be maintained by the groups and clarified the doubts of the group members.

B.D. Roy, secretary, Moniarkhal T.E. Youth Club explained about the maintence of books of accounts and other records. The programme ended with vote of thanks from the NGO.
