Manipur security scene has improved: Gaikhangam

IMPHAL, January 2: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam gangmei who also holds the home port folio has said that the law and order in the State had improved in 2014. He cited records and statistics to substantiate his claim.

Speaking at a public meeting at Tarung on the New Year’s Day, he said that it was possible since the police got unstinted cooperation of the people.

He also exhorted the people to continue to cooperate with the security forces so that the situation improves further in 2015.

He also said that the interview results of the candidates who had appeared for the posts of sub inspectors, constables and jamadars will be announced shortly.

There have been various forms of protests from the frustrated candidates against the inordite delay in the announcement of the results. These interviews were conducted while the home department was under the Chief Minister. There was also a different DGP at that time.

In fact, many of the candidates had crossed their age for joining government service.
