Curtains down on Desang–Brahmaputra Utsav

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

SIVASAGAR, January 5: Rain played spoilsport on the concluding day of the Desang–Brahamaputra Utsav–2015 on Sunday. The three–day festival was hosted by the Sivasagar district administration with an aim to protect and uplift the local art, culture and tradition and display its extravagance, cuisine, dance and music at Dr Bhupen Hazarika Samany Kshetra in Desangmukh, 12 km away from Sivasagar town.

Though the first two days of the festival received an overwhelming response from thousands of people, including tourists from the various parts of the country, the downpour which was experienced in the district after a long period, kept people away from the festival on the concluding day.
