ABSU holds open discussion on challenges of students

UDALGURI, January 6:  The second day’s programme at the 40th annual conference of Udalguri district committee ABSU began on Tuesday in the Bishnu Rabha Kristhi premises in Udalguri with flag hoisting by Nerkhang Khakhlary, the president of Udalguri district committee ABSU, followed by iuguration of martyrs’ tomb and homage to the martyrs by Rabindra Mochahari, ABSU advisor, and homage to Bodofa by Luis Mochahari, the former general secretary of Udalguri district committee.

The souvenir Khobai was released by bin Malla Boro, Sahitya Akademi child literature award winner. The open discussion on ‘The challenges of students and the common people to cope up with the present trend of the global world’ was iugurated by Dr Luke Daimari, Principal of Udalguri College. The programme was chaired by Nerkhang Khakhlary. A peace rally will be brought out on Wednesday instead of a cultural procession to deliver the message of peace and harmony. The ABSU has deeply resented the prevailing situation after the killing and the reactiory counter attacks in the region, said Rinjoy Boro, assistant secretary of Udalguri district committee ABSU. The peace rally will be flagged off by Jatin Bayan, Principal of Udalguri Sangeet

Mahavidyalaya. The sixth martyr Fwrdan Daimari Memorial Award will be conferred on Dr Liladhar Brahma, eminent Bodo litterateur, social and cultural activist on Wednesday. Also senior citizens like Andrews L. Mardi, Rameswar Boro, Jatindra th Sarma, Chandra Mohan Chhetry and Gobardhan Prasad Chouhan will also be felicitated.  The open session will be iugurated by Sadha Hojai, the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri.
