tiol Equestrian Championship from Jan 9

DIBRUGARH, Jan 6: The tiol Equestrian Championship, Endurance 2015 will start here on January 9. It is being hosted by the Equestrian Federation of Assam (EFA) under the aegis of Equestrian Federation of India.During a press meet held here today, the secretary general of EFA, Siddhartha Sharma, said that endurance rides for senior category will be for 60, 80 and 100 kilometres while it is just 40 km for junior category. He further stated that Championship will see the presence of 60 horses, making it one of the largest participation in endurance in the country. Indigenous Manipuri ponies will also be showcased during the event. The participating teams include one from Assam Police with nine members and a contingent of Manipur Equestrian Association.

The junior category will witness the teams from Assam Valley School, Tezpur, Delhi Public School, Numaligarh, and Royal Global School, Guwahati. The track of endurance will run through the tea estates and Brahmaputra river side.
