Union minister Danve new Maharashtra BJP chief

Mumbai, January 6: Union minister Raosaheb Dadarao Patil Danve will be the new chief of BJP’s Maharashtra unit, it was announced on Tuesday. The minister of state for consumer affairs, he will replace Devendra Fadvis who has been holding charge since his election as the chief minister last October. Danve, who hails from Jal district in the backward Marathwada region, was a close associate of senior Bharatiya Jata Party (BJP) leaders from the state – the late Pramod Mahajan and his brother–in–law, the late Gopith Munde.  (IANS)
