Ganga Kumar Devi, a resident of Barkura village near lbari died of illness on January 6 at the Swahid Mukunda Kakati Hospital. She was 78.

Devi was a radio artiste who wrote bia am and diha–am. She was the president of 6 no. Paschim Batah Ghila Mauza Mahila Committee for a period of 30 years. She also held the post of president of 6 no Paschim Batah Ghila Panchayat for a long time. She was associated with a amghar of the locality. She leaves behind four sons and three daughters along with many relatives.
