Protiva wins gold in police archery

Guwahati, January 7: Ace archer Protiva Boro of Assam Police bagged the 60 meters recurve women’s title in the 3rd All India Police Archery Championship held at the 4th APBN Complex today. Protiva scored 320 points on way to collect the gold medal. V Sharada of Indo Tibetan Border Police (319) and Paril Lepcha of West Bengal Police (316) finished second and third respectively. Meanwhile in the 50 metres recurve women’s event, Sumandeep Kaur of CRPF took gold while her teammate Rukmini  Machahari and Paril Lepcha collected silver and bronze respectively.  In the 50 metres recurve men’s event, Thupuvoyi Swuro of galand Police clinched gold medal. N Subhachandra Metei of Assam Rifles collected silver while Balji Yadav of ITBP took bronze. Netrajit Singh of Assam Rifles finished the day collecting three medals including a gold in three different compound events. Binita Bodo of ITBP bagged gold madel in the women 70 meters recurve event.
