Drive against drug abuse

IMPHAL, January 8: The Manipur Students’ Association Delhi (MASAD) will soon launch a drive against abuse of drug and other intoxicants among the students and employees of Manipur in Delhi. Talking to reporters, Andy Oim, general secretary of MASAD said that there are increasing instances of untoward incidents as a result of drug and alcoholic abuse among the Manipuris there. He is seeking cooperation from the family members and civil organisations to make the drive a success. He also said that there are complaints of exploitation of young boys and girls in Delhi. Several children had been lured away to Delhi on the false promise of education or employment. However, most of them are exploited and ill treated.
