Festivities prohibited

FROM OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT
IMPHAL January 8: The All Manipur Students’ Union has banned all kinds of festivities in Manipur. This step was taken in view of the forthcoming examitions in the State. Further the AMSU says that the missiory schools in the state cannot hold admission tests. The AMSU activists said that there should be lottery system on the basis of which admission should be done for Class one students. They said that if the missiory schools want to revert to admission tests it would amount to encouraging corruption. The poor parents cannot bribe to get their children admitted. If there is lottery system there will be no room for corruption. Past experience has shown that the missiory schools cannot ignore the grim warnings of the students.
