KAAC CEM appeals for peaceful co–existence

From a Correspondent

Donkamokam, January 8: “In the present situation, I would like to request all political and non–political organizations not to spread the message of hatred,” said Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang at public meeting at Mugasong Nepali village in west Karbi Anglong on Thursday.

“Let us try to live honestly and peacefully. Karbi Anglong is a cosmopolitan place where people of different tribes and communities live. So peaceful co–existence is very important,” he added.

The CEM said that the bandh culture hampered development and affected students, hence there must be an end to it. “I appeal to KPLT and other extremist organizations of this district to come forward for talks, because violence will never solve any problem,” said Ronghang.

He said that the district was on the path of development but more work needed to be done with the cooperation of the government.

Such a meeting was also held in Taradubi and both the meetings were presided over by president of BRMCC, Tarzan Langthasa.  Chairman Veterinery Board, Ditolal Hasnu was present in both the meetings. The CEM also distributed blankets and blouses among the BPL families of the area.
