Two dreaded KPLT militants gunned down

gaon, January 8: In another blow to the militant outfit KPLT operating in the Karbi Anglong district, a joint team of Baguri based Army Camp, under Red Horn Division, and Assam Police killed two hardcore militants of the outfit at Baguri Rongmongve village under Dalamora police station in the wee hours of Thursday.

The Baguri based Army received information regarding the presence of some armed KPLT terrorists in the area. Army with a police team from Dalamara PS went there. Three KPLT militants started firing at them and in retaliation they opened fire. In this exchange, two militants were killed and one maged to escape. The ultras are yet to be identified. Two pistols and one revolver were recovered from the slain terrorists.

Post the brutal massacre by NDFB(S) on December 23, the security forces have intensified their operations to systematically dismantle the network of armed groups like NDFB(S) and KPLT.
