Dibrugarh, May 25: Shreyash Bhattacharjee from Salt Brook School, Dibrugarh, scored 584 marks and secure the 10th position along with 4 other candidates from other parts of the State. The 10th position holder, Bhattacharjee, who hails from Dibrugarh town, is the son of Sanjib Bhattacharjee and Aditi Bhattacharjee of the Gangapara region, both of whom are teachers. Going forward, the rank-holder, who studied for 4-5 hours daily for the HSLC examination, wishes to make a career in the domain of physics.

This time, a total number of 14430 students appeared for the examination from the district. Out of those, 2773 candidates secured 1st division, while 3004 and 1866 candidates secured 2nd and 3rd division respectively. The pass percentage has come out to be a dismal 52.97 %. Special mention needs to be made of the Salt Brook School and BVFC Model High School. While the former has been able to put up a good performance over the years quite consistently, the fact that two candidates managed to secure a rank from BVFC Model High School speaks of the school for itself.
