Visually impaired girl secures 2nd division, letter mark in Music’

Silchar, May 26: Rudrani Das (Mistu), who is 95% blind, of Netaji Vidya Bhawan Girls’ High School, Silchar, has secured second division marks with letter mark in music in the HSLC examinations this year. She missed first division by a whisker. She secured 344 marks out of 600 and got 86 in music.

Rudrani has been suffering from his illness since birth. She used to hear and listen, and also read books and copies from very close proximity. She also loves to sing. She has been neglected, avoided and insulted by her fellow mates. Even, she was taken to Nepal for eye treatment. Doctors advised her to discontinue her studies. She however chose otherwise and made a mark.
