Football season to kick off in July

GUWAHATI, May 27: The new football season of Guwahati will be kicked off from the last part of July. Although Super Division League is the main attraction of Gauhati Sports Association but in the last year the league was badly suffered because of non availability of ground as the city was gearing up to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup. A source from the Gauhati Sports Association today informed The Sentinel that the next working committee meeting of the association would be held on June 2 and thereafter the football section would start its work formally. It may be mentioned here that Gauhati Sports Association recently constituted new executive committee during its Annual General Meeting held in the city. Munin Nobis retained his president post while Dhrubajyoti Kalita took the charge of General Secretary.
