Rajendra Narayan Dev receives Lili Choudhury Award

Bongaigaon, May 27: The Koch-Rajbongshi Jatiya Manch honoured eminent educationist and litterateur Rajendra Narayan Dev with the Lili Choudhury Memorial Award on Sunday. In a meeting held in Bongaigaon District Library, Rajendra Narayan Dev was conferred the award by Dr Anupam Kumar Ray, retired IAS officer and former APSC chairman. Bimal Barman, husband of Lili Choudhury and president of Koch Rajbongshi Jatiya Manch, said that this was the first time this award had been given. “Rajendra Narayan Dev has been awarded for his book Select vocables of the Koch Rajbongshi language with sources and Etymology.” He received Rs 25,000 and a certificate. Around 21 other dignitaries were also felicitated in the meeting. “This award will be given every year,” Barman added.
