NSCN rebel killed

JOYSAGAR, May 28: In a major breakthrough, one NSCN rebel was killed during gun battle with the Assam Rifles security personnel on Sunday night at Longding Liknu village near Assam-Arunachal border of Charaideo district. As per information, the 14th regiment of the Assam Rifles conducted an operation against suspected rebels following secret-tip off on Sunday night. During the operation, rebels opened fire at the security forces and in the counter attack, one NSCN sergeant major, identified as Pang Gang Juncha (37), died on the spot. Army recovered one revolver, five live bullets and one grenade from the possession of the self-styled sergeant major. Other rebels were able to flee.
