AASU burns effigy of MLA

Bokajan, May 30: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), Bokajan regional committee on Wednesday burnt the effigy of MLA Dr Numal Momin over a controversial Facebook post targeting the organization and the historic tripartite Assam Accord, 1985. The controversial Facebook post drew attention of the students’ organization and AASU activists burnt the effigy of the MLA laced with a garland of distorted shoes in protest. Referring to the post as a cheap publicity stunt, the organization leaders have requested the BJP legislator to refrain from such controversial remarks in future.
