Assam Agitation activist passes away

GAURISAGAR, May 31: Noted educationist, social worker, actor, veteran activist of the Assam Agitation, resident of Amguri Hiloidari village in Sivasagar district and former Principal of Amguri Aauniatia Hem Chandra (AHD) Dev HS School, Bikul Saikia passed away on Wednesday morning. He was 83. While unveiling a book at the memorial meeting of Dimbeswar Saikia, former chairman of Amguri Municipality Board, Bikul Saikia fell on the dais and was immediately admitted to Amguri PHC where doctors declared him as dead. Various organizations and Amguri MLA Prodip Hazarika deeply condoled his demise. He is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter.
