Silchar, June 1: A total number of 157 students appeared for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination which was conducted by the Board of Secondary Education of Assam (SEBA) in Jogai Mathura High School, Binnakandi Ghat. Out of these students, 62 passed the examination with 2 students securing 1st division marks, 25 securing 2nd division marks and 35 3rd division marks. Guardians of these students, teachers and staff of the school are happy and content with the results. Renowned gynaecologist Dr Arun Kumar Paul Choudhury who is an alumnus of the school donated reward to the top scorers with money worth Rs.15000, Rs.10000 and Rs.5000 in the fond memory of his sister late Bithika Paul Choudhury. He has been rewarding the top students of this school since 2017.

Saraswati Nunia who secured 1st division marks with 5 letters got Rs.15000 while Bikramjit Namasudra who secured 1st division marks got Rs.10000. The top scorer among students who secured 2nd division marks, Anita Singh, got an amount of Rs.5000. Dr Arun Kumar Paul Choudhury urged upon the teachers to keep up the good and hard work which they have been doing for years. Headmaster of the school, Hemchandra Singha along with other teachers Shilpojit Paul, Biswajit Singha, Badri Prasad Roy and Ramnath Goala expressed their satisfaction at the doctor’s noble deed of inspiring the students. Retired head teacher of the school Durga Kanta Pandey and former teacher K Devendra Singha have also expressed their contentment at the school’s performance.
