Awareness meeting against superstition held

MORIGAON, June 19: An awareness meeting against superstition and uncultured disposition was organized by Jeeban Jeuti Krishak Sangha at Silsaku LP School, Baghara on Monday. Attending as the chief guest, Pradeep Gogoi, vice-chairman, pro-talk ULFA, said, “We had taken shelter in the area of Karbi people 30 years ago. They are very easy and kind-hearted. The lynching incident that took place on June 8 was executed by a mob of Karbi people led by Ulfa Jong, a notorious person of Dokmoka, where we had lost two budding artistes, Abhijeet Nath and Nilotpal Das. We condemn the incident but we should not accuse the Karbi community for the deeds of a certain section of people. We should keep the bond of unity intact so that nobody can take the opportunity to indulge in evil activities.”
