Educere School felicitates visually impaired student

Williamnagar, June 19: With a view to encouraging and inspiring students with physical disabilities, Educere Secondary School, Williamnagar, felicitated visually impaired student Chonkame Sangma at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of East Garo Hills Ramkumar S. This has been stated in a press release.

According to the principal of the school, Gamchi Timre R Marak, despite having visual impairment, Chonkame Sangma had done well in this year’s SSLC examination with 61% marks. She wanted to pursue her studies in Science but Williamnagar Government College and Rongrenggre Government Higher Secondary School denied her admission, the principal lamented.

Deputy Commissioner of the district, Ramkumar S, however, assured to get her admission in Loyola College, one of the premiere institutions in the district headquarters. He also assured to get her a specially designed cell-phone with a magnifying glass, the release added.
