JMB serves demolition notice for illegal construction

JORHAT, June 19: The Jorhat Municipality Board (JMB) has asked to justify unauthorized construction and to submit written statement about the construction made by Vinod Kumar Malpani on a plot of land bearing dag no. 3567 and PP no. 319 of 1 no. Town Block, Town mouza for violating the laws of building rule, 2014 and carrying out construction without obtaining permission from the Jorhat Municipality Board, informed Jayanta Borkotoky, JMB chairman.

Vinod Kumar Malpani has been issued show cause notice as his application seeking permission to construct the G+2residential building on the above mentioned dag no. and patta no. was rejected for improper land documents drawing submitted but he went ahead with the construction violating building rules, 2014. Under the circumstances having provided with sufficient time and opportunity to present the case and further since the deviation in construction is highlighted as zoning regulation and of Assam Town and Country Planning Act, specially provisions under section 30 D (1), JMB has ordered Vinod Kumar Malpani residing in Fancy Ali, Jorhat to remove the illegal construction of building by demolition or otherwise within 15 days of the notice, failing which no further communication will be made to Vinod Kumar Malpani.

The notice states that if Vinod Kumar Malpani fails to comply with the order after 15 days of receipt of this order, Jorhat Municipality Board will carry out demolition of the illegal construction and the cost of removal will be recovered from Vinod Kumar Malpani, said JMB sources.
